About RMJC

Rocky Mountain Joinery Center was started in 2013 to address an important need in the construction industry: the wholesale design and fabrication of a complete range of precision packages for timber frame retailers, builders, developers and architects throughout North America and worldwide.

The high-tech 30,000sqft RMJC facility is located in Lafayette, Colorado and is equipped with state-of-the-art, completely automated Hundegger CNC joinery machinery. Our team of experienced designers, machine operators and timber frame specialists work closely with our worldwide customers in creating the highest quality precision plans and structures.

Facility & Technology

RMJC’s 30,000sqf facility in Colorado accommodates the most sophisticated, automated Hundegger CNC joinery technology available today, and can fabricate in excess of 3 million board feet of heavy timber per year. We have a dedicated team of machine operators, professional artisans and passionate craftsmen working round the clock creating high-precision heavy timber packages.

Hundegger K2i CNC Machine

The fully-automated K2i is the largest and most advanced heavy timber CNC joinery machine in North America. Equipped with multiple tooling stations as well as both 4- and 5-axis mills, it is unparalleled for speed, precision, versatility and reliability. It is equipped with the widest timber track in the industry, and can accommodate sizes of up to 18” x 48” x 60’.

Hundegger HM-D Planer

The HM-D 4-sided planer provides exceptionally fast surfacing and edging for timber sizes of up to 16” x 18”

Hundegger Speed Cut CNC Machine

Coming soon: The Speed Cut CNC machine provides ultra-fast fabrication on smaller timber sizes, as well as for pre-cut walls, floor and roof systems.

Woodmizer Sawmill

A dedicated Woodmizer sawmill provides timber ripping and resizing services

Staining, Texturing

For projects that require a custom stain finish, the RMJC facility houses a fully enclosed, climate-controlled staining shed. For projects that require custom texturing or distressing, RMJC offer many types of timber texturing finishes – all executed by our team of handworkers and craftsmen.

Pre-Assembly

RMJC provides turn key assembly of truss packages, as well as wall, floor and roof systems.

Design, Software & Support

RMJC has an in-house design department that dramatically speeds up the design process, and reduces turnaround time for planning and approvals. RMJC’s design team works closely with architects, builders and developers to provide detailed estimates, customized shop drawings and engineering approvals for residential and commercial projects. RMJC also offers on-site project technical assistance as well as custom steel shop drawings.

Lumber Yard

RMJC boasts a large 6-acre lumberyard stocking an extensive inventory of the highest quality air-dried Douglas Fir heavy timber. Stocking timbers in inventory helps reduce material lead times significantly and enables our customer projects to be cut, delivered and installed at short notice.
